Welcome to my website and thanks for stopping by!

I am Jenny, married to William and a mother to one daughter, Arwyn who is 7. We live in the beautiful county of Tipperary with our three cats and three hens! 

I have always been passionate about the environment and our connection to nature. I recycled, composted and did all the things I could to lessen my impact on the environment.  However, having watched the brilliant documentary 'A Plastic Ocean' some time ago on Netflix I realised  much more needed to be done.

Plastic is everywhere and we are drowning in it. Ireland is the top producer of plastic waste in Europe, we generate an average of 61 kilos per person every year. We produce the equivalent of almost 2000 water bottles or 5,500 disposable coffee cups per person annually. It is estimated that if current trends continue there will be more plastic by weight than fish by 2050. That is a staggering thought.

Zero Waste Market Place was born to make sustainable products available to everyone, starting locally at markets and events in my home county and now going nationwide with my online shop. I am self funding this project whilst still maintaining another full time job so it's a bit of a juggle at times but a thoroughly enjoyable one!

I try to source as many products in Ireland as possible in order to reduce the carbon footprint involved in their transportation and to support the local economy and jobs.
