How to wash and care for Beeswax Bags?

Irish Beeswax Bags are made with beautiful cotton prints and the ultimate mix of natural raw beeswax, organic coconut oil, organic peppermint and lavender essential oils. Beeswax Wraps and Bags are made of a breathable material and have antibacterial, antiseptics, anti mould properties that keep your food fresh for a lot longer.

Perfect for picnics, school lunchboxes, snacks at your desk at work or to cover salad bowls.

  • Hand Wash only
  • Clean gently using cold water and alcohol-free soap. When using cold water, beeswax coating stays firm, providing a stable surface for cleaning
  • Wraps are cleaned like regular plates and can handle a light scrub using a gentle dishcloth or a non-scratch sponge
  • Beeswax Bags are never to be placed into the dishwasher, washing machine or to be washed under hot water!
  • Scrubbing too hard can peel off wax.

Drying & Storage

Wrap right away after washing, dry your wrap with a towel.

  • Best to let it drip dry naturally
  • Store your bags in a dry, clean environment and avoid direct sunlight.

Restoring your Beeswax Wraps and Bags

  • Make sure that your oven is on low heat to prevent damaging the wraps.
  • Place your wrap on a tray on top of baking paper
  • The wax can melt in as fast as one minute so keep an eye on your wrap
  • All you want to do is to remelt the wax!
  • Remove your wrap from the oven and quickly grab the two top corners with your fingers and wave to air dry.

Wear and Tear

Stains, frays and rumples on your Beeswax Wraps or Bags are signs of well-used wraps. Nevertheless, refreshing and cleaning your wraps is very simple and with a little care, your Beeswax Wraps will last longer.
