Tibetan Prayer Flags are not just colourful flags, Tibetans believe these flags carry prayers and spiritual vibrations which are activated and spread by the wind. The tradition dates back to ancient Tibet. They are used to promote peace and compassion.
The flags are not hemmed (deliberately) as when they fray and fade in the wind, it is symbolic of the passing nature of all things. They can be hung either inside or out to increase spiritual awareness.
